Liv Perrotto

The girl who designed the asteroid plush

Born on July 28, 2010, Liv was diagnosed at ten with Undifferentiated Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer.

She loved space the way other kids love cartoons.

On her eleventh birthday, the Inspiration4 crew invited her to witness their launch, turning one of the hardest chapters of her life into a memory of pure wonder. Later, she was chosen to design the zero-gravity indicator for the Polaris Dawn mission: a small plush called Asteroid that flew above the Earth.

Liv kept a notebook of questions she hoped to one day ask Elon Musk. She passed away before that day came.

After she was gone, her questions were shared on X and Elon answered. One of them was simple:

Elon Musk later honored her wish. Asteroid became the official mascot of SpaceX.

This project carries her idea forward - gently, and without forgetting where it came from.
